Identity Theft

We strongly urge you to do everything possible to protect yourself from identity theft.  If you go to www.onguardonline.gov, you can learn more about fraud and identity theft.

You should also become aware of “phishing” (pronounced “fishing”) schemes, which are high-tech scams that use spam or pop-up messages to deceive you into disclosing your credit card numbers, bank account information, Social Security number, passwords, or other sensitive information.

Additional information is available from the Identity Theft Resource Center at

http://www.idtheftcenter.org/ and from Consumer Sentinel at http://www.ftc.gov/sentinel.
